Gran Turismo 7 is a pretty straightforward racing game where players follow the path of a driver-collector. The main idea is to fulfill subsequent missions given to us in the cafe, get cars and learn about the extensive history of the automotive industry. Missions are awarded in the cafe - there are almost 40 of them in total and each of them has different tasks: part is to collect a collection of vehicles (e.g. a trio of Porsche 911s, a trio of Camaros or Mustangs), part is to take part in a championship and finish it with positive result, and some simply force you to use various options in the menu, such as washing the car, playing with the photo option or using the service option. As a reward for the objectives set in the cafe, players receive credits, roulette passes and lengthy lectures on cars that are not to be missed. Okay, maybe they are not that long and sometimes you can even find out some interesting facts, but providing the scroll option would be a good move by the developers. However, coffee shop quests are not the only goal of the game. You can also take part in missions and obtain licenses (some are necessary to complete the task from the cafe and some allow you to take part in more prestigious races and having it is voluntary). In addition to the obligatory lessons of automotive history, after completing subsequent missions, we are given the opportunity to use new tracks. Of course, the longer you play, the more tracks will become available. More than 30 routes will be available in Europe, Asia and the Americas. In addition, each track can be driven in various configurations, which results in the option of almost a hundred different laps. It's nice that the creators thought about changing the time of day and the weather. There are championships in which the courses must be run twice: the first race takes place on a dry surface, the second on a wet surface. The principles of physics are also taken into account and the acceleration and braking style must be adapted depending on the surface. The game forces you to change your driving style on different types of surfaces, and ignoring external factors often resulted in me losing control of the car and falling off the road. I had the most fun racing in the evening and with the sun going down, because then I could feel the atmosphere of the game the most. I can't fault the look of the graphics - 4k resolution with 60 frames per second. Ray tracing is also available in some modes. Of course, that's when it comes to PS5. With PS4, 1080p and 60fps are available. The car aspect is probably the most important element of the game. It's all about collecting cars. You have to win them, buy new or used ones, upgrade them and constantly increase your collector level. At the start, we got over 400 cars to win, from Citroens, through Chevrolets, to Porsches and Tesla. The choice is huge, and the more credits you have to spend, the better. There is definitely a lot to choose from. When it comes to microtransactions, you'll definitely find it has an option with credits, but it's not overly intrusive and until someone mentioned it, I didn't even pay much attention to it. Credits allow you not only to buy cars, but also to buy tuning parts. I especially liked this option. After a few races (winning of course) I could afford to buy a Corvette and then upgraded it several times, which improved its performance points. After some time, I created a beautiful red beast. Together with Lenka (yes, I gave her a name) we are undefeated most of the time. It is also not the case that one car will be used to cover every track. Sometimes only French cars are required, sometimes American cars or with a specific type of tyres. The game, however, forces you to have some knowledge and inadvertently injects information about the automotive industry. Nice, but boring at times. When you just want to race, hearing news about hot hatches is quite irritating. Gran Turismo 7 is a game that offers quite a lot of fun not only for automotive freaks. Thanks to very realistic graphics and relatively responsive controls, you can spend many pleasant moments with it. If a game can keep me at the console for a few uninterrupted hours, I consider it a success. Oh, I might have mentioned at the beginning that I like cars. Especially the ones I can't afford right now. Racing with Vulcan, 911 or my trusted Lenka gave me a lot of fun. Simple tasks bored me and some - too slow in my opinion - led to pure fury. Fortunately, negative emotions in GT 7 were much less than positive ones. If, like me, you like fast driving, then Gran Turismo 7 will relax you.   0 0
